the threat...

Today I got the threat of a lifetime! Okay, that may be a TAD of an exaggeration, but I was very shocked when a little incident took place today. So to my dismay, I had to have a group meeting today. Not only was I disappointed becuase it meant missing out on a camping trip, it also meant I had to be in the Library on a Saturday. Two very bad things! So my group and I were meeting and all of a sudden the 30 minute announcement went on. We carried on and then there was the 15 minute announcement. Right after the 15 minute announcement, one of the library staff told us that there was 10 minutes until the library closed, and then at 5 minutes another person came and told us we had to leave soon. If I didn't know any better I would say that they wanted us out of there! So about one minute later, a security guard came over and told us we only had a few minutes. I told her (very nicely I might add) we were just waiting for the other girl to come back from the photocopier and we would be out of there right away. Then she turned into psycho security guard and said "If you ladies are still in here when he makes the final announcement, then we are going to have to write you up!" EXCUSE ME?! Write us up for what? Not leaving the library promptly? I had to laugh. A perfect record throughout my University career and I get written up for being overly studious?! It's not like I was trying to steal a book from the oversized collection!!! I almost wanted to stay so that I could see just what this being written up business was about, but I decided I wouldn't risk angering the security guard and librarians! Geeesh!!!

phases...

So, do you ever go through strange phases in your life? For example, sometimes when I'm looking at journal articles in the library for my psychology papers, I become really inspired to be a doctor and then the feeling passes a few days later. That has happenened to me twice. And lately, I have had an even more shocking career change plan. The other night, Lana (Tilly's sister) let me cut her hair. Not only did I uncover a surprising hidden talent (I will admit, I have skill in this area!!), I realized that I really enjoy doing it. So then I thought "hhm, I should become a hairdresser and just do it on the side". But then I realized that I have this feeling a lot, so I decided that if I didn't think about it, the feeling would just pass. Well, it's two days later and I still think that I want to do this. How fun would it be to be able to travel the world, cutting hair everwhere you go?! I figured this would be the type of job you could do anywhere and not only that, it would be the perfect job for a mom. It's not like I'm planning on having kids soon or anything, but I just thought that it would be great to be able to have a little salon in your basement and cut hair for a while. Maybe I'm completely crazy, but I have been inspired!! Although, I must say I wish I would have been this inspired before I started university so that I could do it through university, but it's all good!! I tell ya, it's funny how you go through these phases in life...I just hope this isn't a phase because I do think it would be rather fun!! And hey... if you feel like a free haircut...you know where to find me!!

wedding pictures...

weddings & the chi...

I'm home! My sister's wedding was a blast!! The week and day couldn't have been better. The weather was perfect and the wedding had all the right ingredients, family, friends, a glowing bride and a handsome groom. Haleigh and Brian are now off on their honeymoon in the Rocky Mountains and the Okanagan. I had a great time with my sister and an awesome time with all the family that came down. I loved being reunited with some cousins and aunts and uncles that I haven't seen for a really long time!! I'm looking forward to the next family wedding...which reminds me...I most definitely caught the boquet!!

The other big news in my life. I finally bought a Chi Iron!! Wow!! It's amazing!! I'm not one that is overly concerne
d with vanity, but I've been wanting a Chi for years!! The best part was that it only cost $33 on Ebay!! Tilly let me do a trial run on her, and let me tell you, the thing is incredible!! It was definitely worth the $33. Well, I know you are all waiting in suspense, so here are the pictures. A before and after photo shoot you can actually trust!!!!
