So I've come to the conclusion that there are simply just some strange people in this world. Last night I encountered two of them. I went for a swim last night and I was sitting in the Sauna afterwards and this girl started talking to me about all her deepest problems. I don't want to sound completely heartless, but I must say, I was a little taken a back when the first sentence out of this girls mouth was "so, my friend found the perfect spot to jump off the bridge and not die, but who knows, maybe he does want to die." I was slightly concerned, and in my typical psychology fashion told her she should consider getting some help for this friend. But then she continued to tell me all about how she liked to prove boys wrong when it comes to cars becuase she knows so much about them. Why does she know so much about cars? Well becuase her dad raised her to be a boy. Okay, too much information. I was glad that I didn't have to say much becuase this girl was talking a mile a minute.
So before I found out some information that I REALLY didn't want to know, I thought it would be best if I headed outta there. This is where I had strange encounter #2. As I was leaving the University, this guy pipes up from behind me, "So, do you know what I do to people who don't hold the door for me?" I'm in a state of panic at this point, trying to remember whether or not I had held the door for him. "I slam the door back at them as fast as I can and then say %$*#, I'm so sorry." But then he proceeded to thank me for holding the door becuase after all I am a Canadian and Canadians should be nice people. Then he walks with me for a bit and says "Don't worry, I'm not following you." and then darts off in a completely different direction. Strange.
These two incidents have made me realize that hanging out at the university after the sun goes down is probably a bad idea. It's when the creatures of the night emerge.
