the sploosh effect...

I LOVE sunshine, I LOVE it when there is no wind, but most of all, I LOVE it when the two combine!! Today is a pretty fabulous day, there is no wind, it's 13 degrees and I think I even heard a bird chirp!! I most definitely sported capris and flip-flops today. Although, there is one issue with rushing the season, it's what I call the sploosh effect. So as wonderful as it is today, the post-snow dirty puddles have formed. It's okay if you avoid them, but if you're walking at a somewhat speedy pace and hit one of those bad boys, you are done for! Today as I was walking, I plowed right through a puddle, and sploosh, it happened. The flip-flop flips and there you have it, a nice dirt sploosh right up the back of your khaki capris! It is a sad occurence, but it's what one must endure to enjoy the luxury of capris and flip-flops.

Don't love the puddles but today was so beautiful that all is good.

Love it Alexa!!!
I took a massive dog for a walk in flip-flops the other day and ended up in a pile of snow. Cold yes, but also invigorating. Oh well, the hazards of rushing the season as you said.
I was so sad to hear why you didn't make it to hockey on Tuesday!! Hope to see you out next week!

How true!!!! Being a flip flop addict, the "spray-painted" rear is quite common. In fact, I've grown quite accustomed to the look. I have a theory though that certain walks...namely whatever one it is that I have...definately increase the splash factor! I think that the amount of bounce and hip thrust in your walk may be a major contributor. Therefore, my advice - try the straight-back, shuffle walk when sporting khakis...It's difficult, and somewhat unattactive, but it definatley alleviates the sploosh effect!! (Problem: The ridiculous walk may be too great a price to pay!)

I have no relative anecdote to share about my experiences with thongs and khakis...and when I combine sunshine and no wind...I get a bad image in my brain...40 degree days would do that to you. So, instead here's some fun for you.
On average, a 4-year-old child asks 437 questions a day.
Dry fish food can make goldfish constipated.
The correct response to the Irish greeting, "Top of the morning to you," is "and the rest of the day to yourself."
And know you now...the rest of the story!
